Harry Gagnon’s Week 2 Monday Night Matchup: Browns vs Jets

NFL Week 2 Monday Night Matchup: Cleveland Browns vs New York Jets

Cleveland -3 Shows New York | O/U 46
This can be a rematch of a competition between these two teams in the season ago the Browns won. That was the match in which QB Baker Mayfield got his first shot in the NFL as he completed 17 of 23 passes and hooked up with WR Jarvis Landry eight times for 103 yards, and that he was quite effective.
Meanwhile, Jets QB Sam Darnold struggled connecting on 50 percent of his passes and tossing two interceptions.
Both the Browns and now find themselves and Jets are coming off disappointing losses in Week 1. The Jets after Monday night are at New England, in Philadelphia, and then home to Dallas and — guess who’s the Patriots . That’s perhaps.
On the flip side, the Browns’ next five games are against teams that won every week and that list contains the Rams, Ravens (put up 42 points from half), Niners (had two pick-sixes), Seahawks and, there they are again, the Patriots.
Mayfield was dreadful, throwing three picks, but I could find him bouncing back, particularly since he has more weapons on offense as a complete than the Jets along with Sam Darnold do.
Le’Veon Bell bailed the Jets from a tough day offensively as he made a fantastic catch for a touchdown on third down and created a catch that was much better for a two-point conversion after. The Jets nevertheless, lacked plays down the field from receivers and I think that’s about Darnold. He also makes the crime too predictable whereas Mayfield shoot shots, especially using Beckham and Landry and will make plays.
I also can view Mayfield using end David Njoku properly running back Nick Chubb gets into the corners and has a big game and when desired.
By the game’s end, place the Baker & Browns dip and the 3 points back, and enter the win column for head coach Freddie Kitchens.
Prediction: Browns 23 – Jets 16. Chubb has a touchdown and 100 yards, Browns shield gets a pick-six. As no TDs and two choices throw it’s Groundhog Day around for Darnold along with the Browns conquer New York again.
