England Women were defeated 2-1 by Norway in their friendly as Caroline Graham Hansen’s late goal finished a comeback.
Barcelona forwards Hansen penalized England sloppiness collecting the ball from a Millie Bright pass that is misjudged, progressing to the box and firing beyond Carly Telford.
This came after Georgia Stanway strike had been cancelled out with a Frida Maanum header in the 53rd minute.
The winless streak for Phil Neville’s side because their 3-0 win against Norway in this summer’s World Cup in France’s quarter-finals now stands at four matches.
Shortly after Kristine Minde had headed an early effort wide for Norway, England grabbed the lead to fashion when Nikita Parris touched Steph Houghton’s pass into Stanway, whose effort from 25 yards out went off the bar.
As the hosts sought to earn a reply, Maanum led off-target and Karina Saevik fired after Lucy Bronze – playing in midfield to the Lionesses – missing possession.
A low drive followed before her luck tried back with a strike the extending Toni Duggan couldn’t prevent from moving wide because she attempted to fulfill a cut-back closely and an air-kick was produced by Amalie Eikeland.
Reiten went close with a curling 33rd-minute effort, and afterwards Jodie Taylor was then double thwarted in front of goal at the other end by interceptions, Telford was called upon at first-half stoppage period to push a goal-bound Saevik delivery.
The opening phases of the second half watched Stanway Telford turn an Eikeland shot and skew an effort wide.
As Maanum, Norway drew level from the subsequent corner and sent the ball.
Bronze nearly put England back within minutes, heading Parris’ cross wide. Taylor also then missed by a header, involving two Hansen shots.
Bronze then saw one effort fly off-target and had another blocked by a team-mate, before Hansen made the most of Intelligent passing the ball straight to her, amassing it only inside England’s half, then shooting it into the region, beyond the diving struggle of Houghton, and lashing a shot to the net.
